Description
fanart! a rather different take on ner pedrina's wonderful comic characters. [link]
now, before he lashes back at me for the weird depictions, i shall explain what's behind them costume changes:
for Diwata, it was a very modified take on the baro-saya-panuelo wear of colonial old manila. the brocaded boots are, of course a stylization.
Narra's costume was inspired by the wonderful wardrobe of the Bagobo women (a tribe from the Southern Philippines). of course theirs were predominantly red, but i changed it to green to suit Narra's character. again, the boots are a stylization.
now for Adarna... well, this was inspired by the Singkil, a very elaborate dance-story from the Moslems of the Southern Philippines. coincidentally, there's a bird figure (sarimanok?) at the top of the dancer's headgear in the original dance. her plasma powers are represented by the fan-things, again, as inspired by the Singkil.
