Borutesu Promwear: a parody
haha ok, i just have to include an anecdote with this deviation:
i'm sure at one point in your life you were or will be a member of a college organization, and most probably that organization has in it's possession, a logboook where emembers can write things as mundane as favourite quotes, or to those romantically-attached members, sweet nothings, or org announcements, or just plain weirdness and randomness (we had a lotta this back then, the org being a fun theatre org with interesting people). anyway, back then i usually didn't like writing in logbooks. i dunno why. i DID however, have this predilection for doodling on them. fortunately, there were a number of other members who also shared the same, erm passion - that is, drawing on our beloved logbooks (we could fill up bout 2 logbooks a year with all them written and sketched things). at one point in my stay in the organization, some members began to groan (not really seriously, though) cuz there's be more drawings than writing. so what we did was we bought a sketchpad for the org, so that people'd draw there instead... of course we ended up still drawing on the logbook. haha though we nonetheless tried to fill up the sketchpad.
ANYWAY, i've unearthed old scanned files of some of our logbook and sketchpad, erm, sketches. this was circa 2001/2, i think. (notice the wicket witchy hands haha) just a result of the randomness one usually encounters on idyllic school afternoons. it's a visual play on the costume of Voltes V (5), a 1970s anime that was pretty popular here during the 70s and 80s and was even revived sometime during the late 90s. this was for the random prom series we were drawing all over the sketchpad... because we didn't know better. haha i think i also drew a Xena Warioror Princess version, but i still have to find that one from the morass of memories collectively referred to as my backup files. hehe
edited to add: here's a link to a pic that show's the crew's costumes: [link] (or, if that doesn't work, then here: [link] )
